Six Months in Montana - The Friday 56 and Book Beginnings on Friday

20307435
I love western romances, and SIX MONTHS IN MONTANA is a good one. The main characters are likable (well, except for the ex-girlfriend) and the plot is fun. My only complaint is that the descriptions of food and wine made me hungry! This book is a sweet escape and right now it's free on Amazon.

Here's the Book Beginning:
"This is a joke, right?" Christian Ford looked at his lawyer and best friend, Travis Jones, in disbelief. Now he understood why Travis had insisted that he come by his office for an official reading of his grandfather's will. "Are you seriously telling me that he changed his will less than a month before he died, and added this condition?"

And here's The Friday 56 excerpt from 56% on my Kindle:
But who was she kidding: if she'd never been one for a casual 'friends with benefits' arrangement, she certainly wasn't going to start now. No, somewhat regretfully, she recognized that she was an all or nothing kind of girl. The complete opposite of what Christian wanted.

Genre: Contemporary Western Romance
Length: 215 Pages

Synopsis from Goodreads:
Molly Bishop loves living in Manhattan and managing a boutique luxury hotel. She's about to be promoted to her dream job of General Manager, the role she's been striving for her entire career. There's only one thing standing in her way. The will of her childhood friend, Christian Ford's grandfather.
She hasn't even seen Christian in over ten years, but a recent run-in with his grandfather during a rare visit home, resulted in a new condition to the will. Christian will only inherit the ranch he's been running and the real estate development business that he has expanded, if he marries Molly and stays married for at least six months.
This is what I would call a cozy romance, it's romantic and sweet and is set in a small fictional town about 30 miles from Bozeman, MT. Warning, if you prefer your stories with the bedroom doors wide open and the windows steamed up, you may be disappointed.

  1. Aaw this sounds sort of adorable, even though I have a feeling I know how it'll end ;) Cozy romance is definitely how I would describe it as well! Also, whenever a book has amazing food descriptions I take it as an excuse to go and eat something! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Me too. Both the hero and the heroine are nice folks -- people you'd want to have as neighbors.

  5. This sounds very good. And I'm happy with the tamer side of romance.

    1. I read almost all "heat" levels, but sometimes less can be more. The characters in this book aren't saints, but the author doesn't go into all the intimate details.

  12. Yup, he might have done it. Don't know whether that's a good or bad thing in this instance.

  13. Way to lead in with a cliffhanger... I kind of need to know what the condition was. So much so that I'm going to start looking for this book!

In all seriousness though, I've been considering another Western Romance series/author. Not a genre I ever considered reading, but I came across Lorelei James' Blacktop Cowboys series and fell in love.

  15. I have had an urge to visit Montana as of late, the title made me smile. "...she was an all or nothing kind of girl." Sounds like me!

  16. Hi Sandra,

I wonder why Christian's grandfather decided that Molly was the girl he should be marrying. Perhaps he thought that Molly would be able to change Christian and help him to settle down in the six months they have to stay married. I can't work out why he changed said will so close the time of his death though!

This one is probably just a bit too sickly sweet for my liking, although an author called Meg Mims has done a great job of introducing me to the world of the Western Romance.

I hope that you had a great holiday weekend and that you enjoyed the rest of this book,

    Yvonne
